We join the world in our sorrow for the French and the Parisians as their beloved Notre Dame burns today. It was a magnificent Gothic cathedral and French National symbol that was not rivaled anywhere in the world. You are in our thoughts and prayers today!
So, so sad. 😦

Apparently they’ve saved the stained glass windows, the art work, the crown of thrones, the alter, the organ and a few other things.

Yes, it was magnificent! Can they find the artisans to rebuild it? That is the question!

Yes, the French have taken a real hit to their heart!

If you think about it’s more than that. The western civilization took a hit. Notre Dame was more than a church and a French symbol. My humbled opinion only.

Absolutely agree…but my heart goes out to the French people as Notre Dame is their premier French national symbol!! You are so right as far as its significance to the world…Priceless!

They are going to rebuild. If Windsor could be done, this can too. So happy.

It was so sad that this beautiful church burned down. I wanted to grow up and see it someday…and I still can (I’ve heard that they are re-building it), but it will never be the same.

No it won’t be the same, but ultimately we still have the history of the place and know what happened there for centuries. This is a great time for people to pull together and help the people of France rebuild their beloved cathedral!

Yes, and the most of the inside is still intact! Its amazing that the interior survived. I have seen pictures of the chapel inside, and its pretty much still intact, and the Pieta (Michelango’s carving of the BVM with Jesus in her arms) is still untouched. Its like a miracle that all that survived.

Yes, it is a miracle! Did you see the photo of the shining golden cross in the inside the night of the fire?

So so sad. But thankfully no one got killed – hopefully. Plus we can rebuild. Hopefully the rebuilding process brings people together.
