A Second Chance

Strangers walk by a cheap prostitute thinking,

“What a poor excuse for humanity.”

I too walk by thinking,

“Where is the Messiah to tell her,

“Go, and sin no more.”

A few blocks later, I realize she could be me

I open my scarlet wallet

And take out two fifties.

I turn, she is gone working.

Will I get a second chance to tell her

God loves her just the way she is?

Please turn from your sin and iniquity

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ

And go, and sin no more.

  1. A well timed blog post. God’s been convicting me lately of how I always see the moment “after it’s gone.” I’m starting to realize now though that maybe that’s not true. Really, I’m too scared to share the gospel in the moment, then after it’s passed I find the courage, but it’s conveniently too late. That’s an unfair thing to do to the lost, keeping the gospel to ourselves.

  2. I find your writing incredibly grounding. You manage to say complex things in such an accessible way. Thank you for creating content that’s not only inspiring but also meaningful. You’ve reignited my passion for words, and I can’t wait to write with more heart and honesty after reading your posts.
