Yes, Dante is buried now. There is still a controversy between Ravenna and Florence for his body. They exiled him to Ravenna and have been wanting his body back for quite a while.
Sometimes life seems overwhelming, not only with all the problems and suffering in the world, but also situations that come up for us personally that are heartbreaking and difficult. My hope is in the Lord, life is not worth living without Him. I trust Him completely, even though I don’t understand why some things happen.
Years ago I heard the title of a book (I’ve never read it) WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE? Immediately my mind remembered the scripture that only God is good, we are all sinners saved by grace, so the real question is WHY DO GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO BAD PEOPLE? That’s us, every last one of us, we have all sinned. Yet, God so loved us that He made a way to redeem us and that’s the GOOD THING!
We do desire smooth sailing, but I find that the more desperate I am, the more desperate I am for God, as well. So, Lord keep us desperate for You, though the rough waters may come. God bless you!
